So I’ve got some exciting news. I’ve been nominated for my very first blogging award! When I started this blog in November, I didn’t even know blogging awards were a thing, so this is super cool to me.
I was nominated by Rebecca and her blog is really inspiring to me especially because I still haven’t quite mastered how to get my blog to actually look cute, and she’s got that down really well AND on top of that, I really enjoy reading her posts!
I think the general rule is to nominate 11 people for this award, but I’m going to go ahead and choose 5 since many that I’m following have already been nominated for this several times:
Don’t worry if blogging awards aren’t your thing, it won’t hurt my feelings! Just know that I like reading your posts even if you decide not to participate.
The questions that Rebecca came up with to ask me I have answered below so hopefully you’ll feel like you know a little bit more about me at the end of it. The questions I’m going to ask those that I’ve nominated are:
- What do you do for a living? If you aren’t necessarily employed, what do you do instead?
- What are things you like to do when you aren’t blogging?
- Where do you live?–I just realized I’m in contact with so many people through blogging, but I don’t know where any of them actually are!
- How old are you? When is your birthday?
- What are you looking to get from blogging?
- How long have you been blogging?
- What is your favorite song? Or a few 🙂
- What is the most recent exciting event in your life?
- Describe what the perfect day for you would be like.
- What is your greatest accomplishment?
- What is your end goal for your blog?
Why did you start blogging?
I’ve always had a love of reading and writing. When that was combined with me needing an outlet and wanting a way to use my voice to make the world better, blogging seemed to be the first step, the best way, and something I really was excited about trying.
Which of your blog posts are you most proud of?
I am extremely proud of my #timesup post. Even if you hated the topic, I believe it might be my best piece that I’ve written as far as informative pieces go. I really struggle with being wordy or getting off topic. I felt that it wasn’t too long and I also think my passion for the cause was felt by readers…or at least I hope so.
What are three words that best describe your personality?
Empathetic, warm, introverted.
If you could meet anyone in the world for a coffee, who would you meet?
I think I would like to meet Colin Kaepernick. He’s achieved so much more than what he’s known for and last year I grew to admire him a lot.
What is your dream job?
I would love to be a songwriter and hope I get to write one professionally before I die. Even if it’s just one song!
What are your hobbies?
I like to exercise, read, try new foods and drinks, and create things whether in writing or with photos and other memorabilia.
Where is your favorite place to go to and why?
I swear I thought long and hard about this answer and I still have to say, I think it’s my bed. It’s the one place I can go and lay for hours in happiness, I can rest, I can cry, I can do anything and I never feel unsafe or worried or like I have to look or act differently than what I want to. I’ve seen some really beautiful places too but the thing is, after a while I still just want to go home. Not everyone has a home, so I feel really blessed to be able to say that.
What is one thing that is definitely on your bucket list?
I’ve been saying I want to learn piano for a few years now and if I never get around to it I’m gonna be soooo mad at myself!
What is one film that you would recommend that everyone watches?
Watch the Lorax! The animated one with Danny DeVito, Zac Efron, and Taylor Swift. I know we are all adults here but the songs are so catchy and it’s a pretty important message, warning EVERYONE of what will happen if greed and money continue to be a higher priority than our limited and dying environment.
What is one song that you would recommend that everyone hears?
Bird Set Free by Sia is one of my favorite songs and if you ever need to feel empowered or are just feeling everything you’ve gone through in life, it’s an amazing song to listen to.
What can readers expect from your blog in the future?
Fun posts that also make for good discussion! I love to write about fun things like fitness, beauty, fashion, etc. I also love to talk about deeper topics and I love getting a lot of different perspectives. I plan to be able to do both without causing any problems!
